WE LIVE LIVES OF REMOTE MANAGEMENT
The Internet and the cell phone changed our world. Today, we run our lives remotely. We apply for mortgages (Lending Tree), buy cars (Carvana), order almost anything (Amazon), have groceries delivered (Whole Foods), have dinner dropped off (Uber Eats), make appointments, organize flights, take classes and get degrees, have meetings (Zoom), run our jobs and business from home all of this from our living rooms, or before we go to sleep while lying in bed or on the sidelines of our kid's soccer practices. Medicine has picked up this delivery model.
Pre Covid there were 350,000 tele visits per year. Post Covid that number jumped to 1 billion per year. Today 1 out of every 5 medical visits is virtual. 75% of USA hospitals have their own app to send patients medical advice, vaccine commercials and support, Covid restrictions that defy the actual research, new “miracle” drugs on the market, and more. These hospitals sign up to 50% of patients to their app. Add to this weekly TV medical shows, drug commercials on TV and streaming, medical billboards, medical/Big Pharma-controlled government information from the CDC, McDonalds kids coloring mats supporting vaccines...bottom line, Medicine is in our lives 24/7. When someone wants advice on a health issue, what option do they have but to turn to WebMD.
